Disgusting. Unsurprising. Tragic.
“I was confused as to why the victim was on his side, because that is not standard practice when a victim has been shot. Checking for a pulse and administering CPR is standard practice.
Instead of doing either of those things, the ICE agents appeared to be
counting his bullet wounds.”

Love these dungeon pics so much. Feels good. We need more hand drawn maps in our lives!
#Dungeon26 Week3!

An Ancient stepwell.
The nearby river flooded it and there it lay submerged for half a century. After, only the entrance was visible.

Level 3 The Underworld! 👻
Almost gave myself carpal tunnel with the art, but had fun writing this one!

There's a lot of good discussion of randomness in tabletop, so I wanted to be a real sicko and talk about how to model random engineering processes with dice

Skerples writes an alternate parallel version of the D&D universe based solely on the OD&D rules, with no “Appendix N” suggested reading, and it turns out… pretty interesting and cool #ttrpg coinsandscrolls.blogspot.com/2025/11/osr-...

A tale of playtesting and how you don’t really know what mechanics work until you bring ones that don’t work to your table, maybe more than once
Playtest Early, Playtest Often — Prismatic Wasteland
To design a game, you have to break a few eggs and discard some rules or completely rewrite them. But you won’t know what to discard and what to rewrite until you feed those eggs to your players.

New free post up! A simpler yet more open-ended way of handling conditions in Mausritter-like systems, or any system with a character sheet. I'm genuinely excited to experiment more with this one.

Decolonising the Dungeon Crawl---

Like everything else re: decolonisation and TTRPGs discourse, this is a solved problem. There's only metric that matters:

How many creators from the colonised world are participating in and able to make a living from their games?

That's *it*.

The state of affairs of my country is appalling as usual. Staying informed and doing what I can, but I'm also looking beyond the stars, rewatching Star Trek. A comfort watch of sorts and a reminder that maybe, at some point, we'll be better.

Got my end of year review of games played in 2025! I played a bunch of new systems and ran 30+ one-shots last year. What are the numbers saying, and what am I gonna do differently this year?
