Luckily in Italy we are allowed to book our own travels and have them refunded, following guidelines*.

My adult kids occasionally ask me for help with trip planning and reservations because by now I have travel agent training.

*Some are even reasonable.

25 years ago I had my own budget and not a shared one with ~20 colleagues so I knew how much was in it at all times, and when (not if) I forgot I popped into an office, said "could you print out my balance? No hurry!" and 10-15 minutes later popped back in to retrieve the printout.
