It amazes me that terms and conditions are actually held legally liable. Because -nobody- reads them or changes anything they do based on it. “Click here to accept our terms” should be held as liable as your boomer uncle’s declarative FB post.
Additionally, OpenAI argues its not liable because Raine, by using ChatGPT for self-harm, broke its terms of service

Just a heads up, but if you are at the point of authoritarian consolidation where the fascist paramilitary troops are destroying security cameras and evidence of their crimes, not just publicly, but in court as well, you are far past the point where this ends peacefully

Translation: People are mocking Elon Musk to his face at parties, then telling him they're getting it from Grok as "roasts".
Elon Musk claims Grok's "epic vulgar roasts" can "make people really laugh at a party" so I took him up on it and used my coworkers as guinea pigs: www.wired.com/story/elon-m...

NSW Hunting Bill likely to pass at 3am

Despite undertakings from Premier Chris Minns about standing behind NSW’s strong guns laws, he is now trying to force an all-night sitting so that the Hunting Bill is passed under the cover of darkness, likely at 3 AM with no one watching.

Seeing media people post praise for Bevan Shields’ run at SMH so I genuinely want to know was it the starting by outing a queer woman, directly telling journalists to lie about a union strike or the genocide denial that made it a ‘great run at a hard job’?

My unpopular opinion is that we don't really know any more about foreign accounts manipulating U.S. politics on Twitter than we did before this update. There's no way of knowing who specifically used a VPN and who didn't. It's obvious that this is a problem but we don't have better data on it now.

Those who don't know by now don't care and won't ever care. Places don't need to keep explaining what X is.

I also don't get people who keep calling it Twitter. I thought the rename was a nice delinneation between what it used to be and now is.

Albanese Government set to use social media ban as cover to water down gambling reforms yet again
If Albanese is serious about ‘progressive patriotism’ he could start by prioritising the livelihoods of Australians over the profits of gambling companies.

Gee, who’d a thunk?

They comissioned a study, discovered this, killed the study, then lied to congress about knowing.
