Second Harvest of Silicon Valley is already serving a staggering, record-high 1 in 6 neighbors in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties every month. This is a number that is quickly increasing.

Let's harness the power of our Bay FC community and make a difference for our neighbors in need.
We have launched a food drive benefiting Second Harvest of Silicon Valley.

Nearly 1/3 of all Silicon Valley households do not earn enough to meet their most basic needs without assistance.

You can help by sharing, joining our team, or donate at impact.shfb.org/BridgeBrigade
We will be hosting a halftime raffle at each location. Each location will have a Bay FC x Trader Joe’s Mini Tote, and a pair of 2026 tickets to see Bay FC.

for those not on x, here is Sarah Gordon and Angelina Anderson’s statement, they do speak for the team, and the team says trans folks belong

1. This week, news emerged that former trans athlete, student at Middlebury, and advocate for trans rights, Lia Smith, was found dead.

Her death was ruled a suicide.

But I argue that it's not only a suicide. Every trans suicide is a murder by those in power.

The Angel City Valkyries strongly condemn the op-ed piece from Elizabeth Eddy yesterday. We call on Angel City FC and the NWSL to take swift and forceful action against this despicable rhetoric.

We also recognize that transphobia is not only an attack on our trans community, but part of a broader system that polices women’s bodies—especially women of color—by deciding whose identities, appearances, and lives are deemed acceptable.

We will not stand for any Transphobia and want to remind everyone that Trans People Belong! We love and will always support our Trans friends and family 🏳️‍⚧️.
🏳️‍⚧️ Today, and every day, we stand with supporters groups across the NWSL to say - loud and clear: Trans People Belong.
In the stands, on the pitch, in our communities - everywhere.
Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and celebrated. No exceptions.

The NWSL's silence on its gender eligibility approach has invited harassment of players — and now, an op-ed from a current player calling for "a clear standard" to address a problem that doesn't exist.

Statements from NWSL, NWSLPA & thoughts from me @theathletic.com

NWSL’s lack of gender eligibility policy leaves players vulnerable – just not in the way you think

Eddy has a new teammate who is Black and from Zambia, who is open about being intersex (assigned female at birth/not trans) and people thinking she's male because of what she wears.

Between that and them sharing the bench/competing for minutes, hard not to see this as a very mean personal attack.
Deeply disappointed in Liz Eddy here, who I've always liked and respected. A reminder that we have a lot of work to do when it comes to educating the public about why trans inclusion isn't just morally correct, but competitively sound share.google/Gjf9a1Sl01eL...

The Spirit Squadron condemns Elizabeth Eddy’s NY Post article, which promotes a hateful ideology that targets trans and cis Black women athletes under the guise of “protecting women,” and it has no place in the NWSL.

Trans people belong everywhere, including in sport 🏳️‍⚧️

Our game doesn’t need gatekeepers. It needs champions and advocates and that means standing for every player who makes it what it is.

It might seem easy to stand still and hope no one notices during these particularly hellish times, but NWSL is not in a position to do that without putting human beings in danger.

Also as several colleagues have noted, the photo choice here is absolutely intentional and points in a grim direction.

Hey, Jessica, this is a player safety issue. I don't know if you know that, but no policy makes it open season on the league. Especially for players like Barbra, Temwa, Rachel, Prisca, etc
