Being true to who you are in the midst of fear, hate, violence and intimidation takes tremendous courage. So many transgender people have lost their lives in that struggle; so many more have paid a heavy cost just for their own survival.

Today, we remember those who’ve fallen in wars past and present: those who fought, those who laboured, and those who simply tried to keep their families alive. They died on battlefields, in factories and in streets, schools and houses.

Today we remember. And we recommit ourselves to ending all war.

The government is preparing to drop its first budget. As paycheques are stretched further & Trump’s tariffs cost jobs, workers couldn’t be clearer: It’s time to raise taxes on the wealthiest Canadians & biggest corporations – not cut services or put the squeeze on working people.

For the past two days, labour leaders on the BCFED's Executive Council have been in Victoria to press for action from MLAs, cabinet ministers and Premier David Eby on working people's priorities.

But we did more than just present a laundry list of lobbying demands.

One big reason why labour history is so important: It's the antidote to the lies demagogues use to divide us with racism and hate (and to make it easier for them to pick us off one by one).

Here are two terrific labour history stories from @dieworkwear.bsky.social

JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.
