The attack on @frediotto.bsky.social was seeded years ago by Roger Pielke Jr, who started arguing that this table from a recent @ipcc.bsky.social report proved that climate science cannot attribute extreme weather to climate change.

But Roger is of course lying. And we know this for 2 reasons.

Climate critics try to discredit IPCC author for linking
disasters to global warming
By LESLEY CLARK, SARA SCHONHARDT, CHELSEA HARVEY | 10/09/2025
06:22 AM EDT Roger Pielke Jr. and oil industry supporters are attacking climate scientist Friederike Otto, whose
work has been used in lawsuits against polluters. Table 12.12 | Emergence of CIDs in different time periods, as assessed in this section. The colour contesponds to the confidence of the region with the highest confidence: white cells indicate where evidence is lacking or the signal is not present, leading to overal bu confidence of an emerging signal.

One of the things about this study is that a lot of baby and toddler books are written in house, by editors. So the study reveals the whiteness of editorial in kidlit even if not explicitly. But, big picture, this trend is unacceptable. I remember so many promises www.theguardian.com/books/2025/o...

Abstract land/seascape in blue and white. Mixed media on panel, 40 x 50cm #abstractart #landscape #seascape #mountains #coast #mixedmedia #irishart
A heavily textured mixed media (oil, acrylic & charcoal) painting: landscape/seascape in limited palette. Very hard to describe! Suggestion of water in the foreground, with strong indigo marks on the left, shoreline behind, with right edge accentuated by brighter blue. Charcoal outline of hills behind, roughly shaded in same grey/white as the sky.

At the current rate of growth of an average 3000 new members per day, it won’t be long before the Greens have a bigger membership than the Conservative Party. Certainly before the end of the month. Extraordinary.
ukgreenstats.bsky.social
Yesterday, the Greens were celebrating 87,000 members.

Today, they have skyrocketed 93,000 members, making this most likely the fastest growth the party has ever seen before in terms of membership figures.

A portrait painting is something that can be passed down through generations. They don't have to be huge or imposing. I love doing smaller intimate commissions like this which are more affordable but just as beautiful. I have space coming up in November. Website is best place to contact me!

A reality check for me was working with students on an internal carbon accounting platform that Bon App our food provider uses. Beef was less than 5% of our purchases but around 50% of our food emissions even with international work to be plant forward.

Scientists are presenting new evidence that the worst effects of climate change can’t be avoided without a major transformation of food systems.

This is an eye-watering tax cut that will go directly into the pockets of big chain restaurants. This tax cut would fund the equivalent of building Luas Finglas every year.

It's official. They're giving big restaurant chains a massive tax cut, costing nearly €700m in the #VAT cut to hospitality.

For that kind of money you could:
