Acting like “non binary” and “woman” are opposites or couldn’t possibly coexist in one’s identity really leads to some narrow thinking. Non binary women exist. No one controls how their gender feels, it’s a whole spectrum.

It’s distressing that the popular image of the TERF has created a broadly false association between women (especially queer women) and transphobia, when it should be seen primarily as a movement and bigotry of cishet reactionaries and mostly men at that.

every time this study comes up (or other similar ones) i see people trying really, really hard to still find a way to say cis lesbians hate trans women specifically and that’s just not true.

i’ve had cishet women become absolutely shocked when i tell them that being a lesbian doesn’t opt me out of existing under the patriarchy and doesn’t make men less sexist to me. like a lot of them seem to genuinely believe lesbians don’t live in the same world/under the same oppressive structures
