How I became a #MutualAid snack stop for kids:

In late 2022, I was COVID-conscious (just like now) and put out snacks for Xmas for all of the delivery people. I noticed they were taking a LOT of stuff but I shut it down in January 2023. But in 2023, "somebody" started sneaking around....

The tradeoff is bloating, a bit of nausea, and some headache-headaches that are very mild in comparison to migraines and occipital neuralgia and haven't yet lasted very long

I started HRT, and I am finally almost sleeping through the whole night. I thought my insomnia issues were depression and anxiety, but everything is related, eh?

Also: if you work for ICE, even if you’re not one of the ones arresting citizens or tackling 15-year-olds or zip-tying kids together and segregating them by race, you’re part of the mechanism making it happen, and you should suffer long-term social and post-regime-change consequences.

Felipe steeled himself as he left the safety of the stairs and full weight of the silence pressed in around him. In the library, no matter how quiet, there were always the sounds of people or pens scratching on paper or pages turning, but the only sounds in the archive stacks were Felipe’s muffled footfalls and the distant hiss of radiator pipes. Stale, papery air coated Felipe’s tongue, even if there didn’t appear to be a speck of dust to be found on the rows of shelves. Every shelf for as far as the eye could see contained books of documents bound in the same utilitarian cream binding with only a series of handwritten letters and numbers to differentiate them. It was disorienting. Being in this part of the archives reminded him far too much of those nightmares where no matter which way he went, he ended up back in the same place.
Checking the card in his hand against the markers nailed into the shelves, Felipe tread deeper into the stacks. He had heard of people getting lost in the endless labyrinth of bones in the Paris Catacombs only to be found years later as a clothed skeleton huddled in some forgotten corner. Felipe could imagine an archivist finding his desiccated corpse lying between shelves of decades old paperwork and leaving him there as a landmark, so they could differentiate that section of cream-colored books from the rest.

My friend with an ostomy bag had her medical equipment substituted without telling her. Umm, it no longer has a handle for her to remove, drain, and clean it. They're also charging her copays for the first time in her life. She hardly has any money from Social Security to begin with.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

I have never in my life seen anything like what is going on between the Broadview police force and ICE. These federal agents just do not give a shit about any kind of back the blue solidarity. Gas, verbal abuse, time wasting.

They have fired the staff of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report and 70 Epidemic Intelligence Service officers, who are disease detectives that respond to outbreaks around the world.

I cannot emphasize enough how dangerous it is to dismantle our disease surveillance infrastructure.

I'm here to report that the federal layoffs have hit me personally. My 25-yr-old great niece worked for the Library of Congress. She's been laid off. Not furloughed, laid off. As in fired.

She lives less than a mile from me, & we are very close. I'm not a happy camper tonight.
