After the delightful dinner out a few days ago, back to our regularly scheduled programming. These from the past two days. Steak with roast veg and a pesto pasta, and a chicken breast spiced with a sauce of cumin, cinnamon, almonds, oregano, honey and dried apricot pieces.

To the right, strips of steak and some seeded mustard lurking in the background on a white plate, a fork to the left, on a bed of wild and brown rice is a chicken breast topped with visible pieces of dried apricot and toasted almonds (chicken was roasted in olive oil, lemon juice & rind, honey, cumin, cinnamon, oregano, salt and pepper) and chopped dried apricots (used instead of original recipe which is currants). Sauce from this is drizzled over the chicken. To the right some diced fresh cucumber.

Dinner tonight (a nod to the old homeland) was ostrich steak. Served with boiled potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, sauteed mushrooms and spiced red cabbage (with herbs, seeds and cashews). And a creamy peppercorn sauce.
