I got off the train, turned the corner, saw the crowds, the stadium, the families, the smoke, the singing. People on roofs, hanging off of lampposts and traffic lights. Took a breath and burst into tears. Beautiful. #COYS

Counting money (notes), really really fast. Without looking actually. My first proper job was a cashier in Hatton Garden Barclays. We took A LOT of cash, so I got a lot of practise.

What an admirably clear statement from the Jewish Leadership Council, especially when all of those involved must surely have been dealing with so many other urgent challenges in safety, security and grief + shock today before having this further divisive and distracting intervention to address too.

Our Shul was in lockdown as a result and we only found out what happened piece meal through other people as phone and tv off
today...

When we got to the overflow shul it was deserted apart from one woman who tried to get in and couldn't. Then a security man came along in a car and told us to disperse because it had gone into lockdown because of an incident in Manchester. I believe most other shuls went into lockdown at the same time. Mid morning.

Part of the burden of Jewish history is being touched, and proud, that the British police rushed to the site of this atrocity and that the reaction of the British prime minister was to send police reinforcements to synagogues. For millennia, this was not so. It is not taken for granted.
