I think my reaction is "Ew, gross." with just a little bit of "whatever" thrown in.
The true Gen X reaction to being lauded as the "greatest generation" would be to narrow its eyes suspiciously and mutter "whatever" when asked about it

Sky had an absolute blast at the airport dog park. Even thin-furred Milk had a pretty great time although next time we will force a coat on her. Possibly booties too.
