The fact that it at least anecdotally seems to be a semi-regular practice to tell white people a minority got the job in order to soften the blow of rejection really should put the elite woke panic into perspective.

I agree with this, but, also and, even when there's no rejection, merely a confrontation with the existence of a non-white person that is more educated, experienced, skilled, etc.? That's also rage inducing. Even if they're lateral in hierarchy.

They do it because they have always been told that this is what a Man in Charge acts like, and had few worthwhile role models in life, to demonstrate otherwise. It’s truly sad to see the lack of male role models for them. No wonder they’re facing a masculinity crisis.
Although Trump’s abhorrent political beliefs are ultimately more damaging to the nation, his reprehensible personality is more shocking to me on a personal level.
