This is an illegal intervention in a country that poses no threat to the United States. Trump is trying to distract from the fact that he tanked our economy and kicked millions off their health care. Congressional Republicans need to rein Trump in before he gets American troops killed.
Trump says U.S. will 'run' Venezuela and sell seized oil in remarks on the strikes
President Trump says the United States conducted a strike in Venezuela and captured that country's president, Nicolás Maduro along with his wife, Cilia Flores.

I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for in a politician but not having every day be a nightmare of horrors would be pretty high up so someone should run on that

Maduro shouldn't worry. Being a Latin leader convicted of drug crimes is a get out of jail free card from Trump. The only thing he could do to better guarantee he is freedom is to admit to white collar fraud or crypto-related crimes.

Among the many reasons you don’t kidnap a foreign head of state at gunpoint even if you have the capability, is that it sparks consequences you can neither control nor anticipate.

Attacking the Capitol on January 6 was an attempted coup. Arrogating the authority granted by the Constitution to Congress to do things like levy taxes, control the spending and declare war is an actual coup, successfully executed. In this instance with the active complicity of the victims.

Can't even maintain his focus on his military seizure of Venezuela and its oil fields for 10 minutes and is already drifting off into a discussion of how he is helped bring down crime (he didn't) in American cities. His brain is adrift in a slush of medication and dying grey matter.

Maduro stole control of the Venezuelan government and ripped off its oil industry. Now...we're going to do the same thing.

The world's fiercest best equipped military is bragging about attacking a much smaller, much less well-equipped, absolutely non-threatening foe. This is a bully thumping its chest for pounding on the smallest kid on the playground.

Fucking nuts. Our country is nuts!!’
Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Reminder: You can't seize a country and take its oil assets and use it to pay yourselves. Trump wanted to do that last term and was shut down by aides serving him better than this bunch.

Trump’s actions are blatantly unconstitutional.

There is no dispute that Maduro is a brutal dictator — but only Congress has the power to declare war.

If Congress does not begin reasserting itself — immediately — our constitutional order will be permanently transformed.

Let's be crystal clear, even with Congressional approval the U.S. does not have the right to take over Venezuela, run it, reclaim the assets of its oil industry.

Mark it now: we will start seeing stories of little advance planning about the occupation. DOD and State will start pointing fingers at each other. Iraq all over again.
This description of the mission from Gen. Caine doesn’t sound like an occupation: “The United States military conducted an apprehension mission in Caracas, Venezuela to bring to justice two indicted persons, Nicholas and Cecilia Maduro. This operation…was discrete, precise…”

Why is Stephen Miller at the center of everything? Involved in every initiative, domestic and international. It's very unusual...especially since his direct report boss, the chief of staff, is nowhere to be seen.

The US is illegally attacking another nation for no reason other than the mental and character defects of our President and his aides. Our military is carrying out those strikes apparently without hesitation. What we are doing is indefensibly, undeniably and deeply wrong.
