The overflow room at the Surprise City Council meeting has also filled up (it has a 500 person capacity). I can’t tell how many are still outside but we can hear them chanting “ICE out” in here so it seems like quite a lot.

Every time I see images of tear gas filling the streets, I think about how it has been linked to spontaneous abortion. Fascists will prevent people from getting abortions while endangering wanted pregnancies. It’s reproductive control and coercion.

from someone who has covered movements for a ~decade, studied them longer: it's not that what's happening right now is "new" (we can find precedent for present tactics in treatment of Black organizers in the 2010s onward, organizing on Palestine and ATL's Cop City, others). it's still really bad!
