This is so awesome, especially the grants to Milton, Georgetown and New Castle.
A total of 18 local, county and municipal park systems in Delaware will share $2.2 million in grants — the largest in program history — to help acquire parkland, design and build parks and trails, and construct outdoor recreational facilities.

2026 can be the year you resolve to drive less. Bike, walk, roll, use public transit. Invite others to join you.

Even just replacing some trips can have huge impacts!

There seems to be some disagreement about whether there are *some* people who are a legitimate target of government violence.
No I said don’t tread on *me*. You can get treaded on.

Houston, Kansas City, Bentonville, San Jose, Detroit, MI; and San Francisco may not appear to have much in common

However, they all are committed to the same sou: permanently reducing or removing car traffic on some of their streets

So smart to rebrand the "Reconnecting Communities" program as "repairing" American infrastructure, by reimagining things like downtown highways as people-first places that can address housing shortages, create jobs, and more. This shouldn't be partisan; it's just good policy.
New Bill Would Help 'REPAIR' America's Worst Infrastructure — By Reimagining It For People — Streetsblog USA
The concept of "reconnecting communities" torn apart by federal infrastructure has come under fire by GOP leaders in Washington. This Senator says it's time to renew the program anyway — and more than...

4.7 billion hours is apparently ~536,530 years lost to congestion

According to NHTSA data, in 2022 motor vehicle crashes led to 1,522,463 years of lost life for all ages

3x the lost time due to lives cut short than to people sitting in traffic

This is why we need to prioritize #SafetyOverSpeed

Microtransit is a threat to public transportation, not its savior.

Case in point: In Dallas, wealthy suburbs are using microtransit as an excuse to ditch DART, the regional transit system.
What Will Replace DART if Cities End Their Contracts?
Two cities allowing voters to elect to leave DART in May have offered microtransit systems as an alternative. They're flawed.
