Today’s Budget means we will deliver the largest reduction in child poverty in a single Parliament.

The headlines from today's budget. I'm particularly pleased about targeted gambling taxes contributing to ending the two-child limit benefit limit and the end of the rape clause.

Best budget day for UK gilts since 2006 >>
Deutsche Bank analysts have spotted an interesting fact:
At first glance, the gilt market likes what it heard from the Chancellor today.

'..today marks the largest fall in 10y gilt yields on the day of a UK budget or major fiscal statement since 2006.'

Sky have gone big on Government 'slashes' cash ISA allowance. I've pointed out to my OH that from next April she can only 'save' £1,000 a month tax free because of Reeves ( the grinch) budget. As my OH only earns £10,000 a year she's not that fussed.

The OBR blunder was embarrassing. But the budget speech was pretty good, all things considered. The Badenoch response was nasty and spiteful. She really does reflect where modern Tory party is today and it ain't pleasant.
