Thanks for the link, @nytpitchbot.bsky.social

Now, can the rest of us please stop doing posts that are nothing but a screenshot of a headline?

And no, "mOsT PeOpLe OnLy ReAd tHe hEadLiNe" won't cut it as a response. Posting the screenshot, and worse, no link, is just compounding that very problem.

I know it's been said a million times, but still. Can you imagine any other president coming within a light-year of saying something like this?

Not only the ugliness (cf. Nixon). The pettiness and insecurity and the need to lie about everything he's done.

Also, "I one our Nation's Districts". :D
Trump responds to a detailed report about his waning energy and propensity to sleep through on-camera events by calling the New York Times's Katie Rogers ugly

(1/X) Quick thing on the shutdown....yes Dems shouldn't have caved when they did but they won the shutdown politically: they killed in the elections and are soaring in the generic ballot.

"Trump’s drive to padlock the Republicans’ House majority may be backfiring, and it could be Democrats who emerge from the gerrymandering war with more seats. As the administration’s bravado has turned to desperation and anger, Trump has put even more pressure on Indiana Republicans to deliver."

This is really good.

I wish all people with power and/or influence would read it, and reflect on how there aren't many easy answers, and how their facile hand-waving is really not helping at all.

One thing to notice among all of the #pie #discourse:

No one, but no one, is claiming to like mince pie. Even the trolls know they can't make that one fly.

The ones I like most, if you care, no particular order: apple, pumpkin, lemon meringue, chocolate cream, Boston cream, chicken pot.

Promises Made, Promises Kept™

The bad news is it's no longer being "Made in the USA."

The worse news is that it is not even being made. Yet. Ahem.

Our sympathies lol to those MAGA suckers who sent in a $100 deposit in June.

From the middle of a short thread.

I will go to my grave mystified by how scared supposedly powerful people are of Donald Trump.

It’s especially ironic because the lecture is exactly about the ‘paralyzing cowardice’ of today’s elites.

About universities, corporations and media networks bending the knee to authoritarianism. /4

I have said repeatedly (as many of you also have) what a shame it is that Trump just will never admit to being wrong, because it just keeps making things worse, in particular, in the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

Great article here, both as to the specifics and as a symbol of the regime writ large.

Interestingly enough, the first headline of this, judging from the URL that archive[.]is picked up, was "The Conservative Movement's Brain Death."

Anyway, it's tempting to snicker "you're just now figuring this out?" but the article is a pretty good piece of recent history review.

You've probably heard that Trump is down a billion or so since September, due almost entirely to the #crypto crash. His sons are down hundreds of millions, too.
