Jesus! Court hearing in ND Illinois today about ICE tactics:
Cortez says an agent wound up drawing a weapon and pointing it at her.

"They aimed it right at me, because I could see inside the barrel."

"My heart accelerated," she adds. "I was nervous they were going to shoot. I froze."
"Bovino’s deposition included an admission that he had instructed officers to 'go hard' and arrest protesters 'who make hyperbolic comments in the heat of political demonstrations.'"
As if his tantrum wasn't already ludicrously over the top, remember one of the plaintiffs is a wine importer. Another manufactures toys.

ICE raided the Golden Apple Buffet in St. Peters, arresting workers—many applied for visas or obtained work authorizations.

Their lawyer says no trafficking was found, just immigrants following legal channels now facing deportation.
An ICE raid near St. Louis targeted food workers. An attorney sees it as part of a larger crackdown
Facing months in jail, workers arrested at a popular Chinese buffet have instead chosen “voluntary departure” back to Indonesia.

One of the very few times I actually believe him
I mean what?!?
O'DONNELL: Why did you pardon Changpeng Zhao?

TRUMP: Are you ready? I don't know who he is

O'DONNELL: His crypto exchange Binance helped facilitate a $2b purchase of World Liberty Financial's stablecoin. And they you pardoned him.

TRUMP: Here's the thing -- I know nothing about it

The total is now 65 people, including one man who is presumed dead after surviving the United States' attack but could not be found by the Mexican Navy.

If you agree with the outrage over this video, over the fact that Kevin Roberts condemns antisemitism but is unwilling to condemn Tucker Carlson for platforming it, there are some lessons about the nature of justice. 🧵
1. A watershed moment.

The President of the Heritage Foundation and Heritage Action, Kevin Roberts , has announced that the organization is standing by Tucker Carlson in the aftermath of Tucker’s interview with neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes.

This isn’t Kevin bending his knee to Trump…this is something new

Yes, everything is broken and there is plenty of reason to be cynical. But making noise when officials violate the constitution still sometimes works and we're going to keep doing it.
Hyattsville Immigration Court has lifted its ridiculous requirement for reporters to get permission from furloughed federal agents to cover hearings.

We wrote to the court’s top judge yesterday about how the requirement violated the constitution.

Um, surely such discussion has not continued *after the 22nd Amendment*, much less finagling for "loopholes."
Having to report to the district court causes irreparable harm by interfering with his ability to teargas children on Halloween.
It is illegal for the U.S. military to deliberately target civilians — even those suspected of being criminals — who do not pose a threat of imminent violence. In peacetime, that is murder. In an armed conflict, that is a war crime."

Nice!
More big news: the Senate just passed my bipartisan resolution to end Trump's global tariffs. This is a huge win and shows how unpopular Trump's tariffs really are. Now it's time for Mike Johnson to abandon his 6 week vacation and get this passed in the House.

This idea that the case against birthright citizenship is a merely a mistake of ignorance is really strange. Amar has discussed at great length on his podcast that the argument is total BS and that Trump should be impeached for the EO.

Ninth journalist I'm aware of ICE has targeted in apparent retaliation for exercising Constitutionally protected rights.

Nothing damages American more than being so small/weak/petty that you abuse government resources to target speech.

Hard to imagine something more unpatriotic and un-American.

Gallego: "It's murder. It's very simple. If this president feels they are doing something illegally, then he should be using the Coast Guard. If this is an act of war, then you use our military and then you come and talk to us first. But this is murder ... it's disgusting."

A friend of mine in Chicago just shared a video on IG of an ICE operation near her house. The operation happened just minutes before the neighborhood Halloween parade. ICE used tear gas and multiple parents had to wash their kids' (including toddlers) eyes out.
