I know it’s incredibly dorky and cringe, but I’ll be thinking a ton about Sam’s speech over the next four years. Never forget that there is good in this world, and it’s worth fighting for
I bet we can get Schumer’s approval among Dem voters to negative double digits before Christmas

The new Republican plan same as the old Republican plan: Fucking die already.
Rick Scott told me his plan would be to take all of the remaining ACA subsidies and redistribute them to HSA accounts and people can then buy whatever insurance a state certifies. Basically a repeal/replace.
He denied when I asked wouldn’t that create two-tiered system where sick pay much more…

The thing about the “performative reading” discourse that depresses me is that there really are people who are so cynical that they’re willing to believe that everyone around them is a liar and a phony. It’s hard for me to imagine being so miserable, so devoid of joy

We need courageous leaders that put working families at the center of all they do.
8 democrats caving to empty promises is an indefensible leadership failure
For the sake of our country, Schumer needs to resign.

The Bears’ 4-2 record to start 2024 (going into their bye) was also deeply fraudulent, as the 4 teams they beat finished a combined 22-46
The combined winning percentage of the 6 teams the Bears have beaten so far is .272. They have 2 games left vs. teams that are currently sub-.500, and 1 of those games is on the road vs. a team that already beat them once. Fraud watch, is all I’m sayin

No statement yet from Stratton that I can find. Kelly and Krishnamoorthi’s statements on the deal seem pretty meh, although Kelly’s uses marginally better language at least
Krishnamoorthi, Kelly, and Stratton should all have to say how they would have voted on this CR if they’d been in Durbin’s place

I’ve met with providers and families across the state who have told me the status quo under this president is untenable. This proposed deal resting on delayed votes and empty promises fails to help Illinois families, which is why I cannot support it.

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.
Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.
This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

Another hilarious stat in this weird fantasy league I play in: Greg Dortch is WR25 with (checks notes) 73 receiving yards in 9 games
Also because this league counts kickoff return yards and punt return yards, Chimere Dike has been WR1, Luke McCaffrey has been WR4, and Marvin Mims has been WR6. Even Devin Duvernay has been WR34 despite logging 2 receiving yards all season 🥴
I also love (hate) that even though my fantasy team is 6-2, I’m tied for 3rd place

I’m so relieved to have been wrong about this
With Alito, Thomas, Barrett, and one of Gorsuch or Kavanaugh, they likely have enough votes to grant cert for this train wreck. The question then becomes whether they have 5 votes to overturn, and I think they do. Recall that Roberts dissented in Obergefell
And so it begins...

I just left @duckworth.senate.gov a calm but harshly worded voice mail. She will lose my vote forever if she doesn’t publicly move to oust Schumer as minority leader imminently. I knocked on doors for her 2016 campaign, and she’s mostly been fine, but fine isn’t good enough anymore
