Andor will always be the very best series of all the various Star Wars properties. I also don’t know why this is trending, but am happy to see this speech again.
I don’t know why everyone is talking about Star Wars today but let’s just rewatch this. “It’s here and it’s not visiting anymore.”

For a decade, Russia has been seeking to divide Europe and America, to undermine NATO and weaken the transatlantic alliance. This peace plan, if accepted, will achieve that goal.

Nathaniel Hawthorne added the “w” to his family name because he was ashamed of his great-great-grandfather, a judge in the Salem witch trials.
it is interesting, all family trees have that one ancestor they're really ashamed of, and now we're seeing the making of those ancestors in realtime. three, four, five generations down the road these will be the people everyone wishes they didn't have blood-ties to and skims over their lives.
DOJ is now recruiting for immigration judges by calling them “deportation judges.”

That’s seems really bad.

So heartbreaking. That family has been through so much, sending Caroline and her entire family so much love and strength. And I hope the media respects their privacy.
An extraordinary, beautiful, and heartbreaking piece by writer & environmentalist Tatiana Schlossberg (Caroline Kennedy’s daughter).

My prayers go out to her and her family.

A federal judge in Washington has halted the Trump administration’s effort to keep more than 2,000 National Guard troops deployed across the city, finding that D.C. is likely to prove the deployment unlawful. Thank you, Judge Jia M. Cobb!

Walking the small dog in freezing rain while he sniffs and smells every single plant, stick, rock, and shrub is not as exciting for me as it is for him. We are back now, time for some Earl Grey tea for the mama.

The Golden Age of Assholes really is the perfect description. I worked in tech for most of my career until I was laid off/early retired last year and I am still suffering from PTSD from the last group of assholes I had to deal with. Humans suck, give me a good dog any day.
We are living in what history may someday see as the Golden Age of Assholes. Which is saying something given the recurrent assholery that has shaped most of human history. But, admit it, the superempowered elites of today are redefining asshology for the ages. www.thedailybeast.com/were-all-stu...

More of this, please.
Larry Summers is attempting to quietly back away from public life.

How many women were forced out of careers, out of opportunities, out of money or potential because of that bastard? And he gets to walk off quietly?

He needs to work to atone. He doesn't deserve peace and quiet.

Larry Summers is the classic elite education sxx pest. I ran into a few of those during my undergraduate days. They were almost always well known, respected scholars in their field and utterly untouchable.

This is fun. I went to high school with Tim
Burton (didn’t know him personally but I do remember seeing him around). Also knew the sister of the actor who played Potsie on Happy Days (Anson Williams). He would stand in the back of the auditorium to see her performances, which was very sweet.
Who was in your high school graduating class, +/- two years, that would be of interest?

For example, I took a basketball class and graduated w/all-time 8th man Jud Buechler (look it up), and may have followed Stephanie Seymour (not sure if she still WENT to school after I moved there).

A big tech absurdity is that leaders can’t get promoted on impact alone, they need “scope,” (aka running a large org) so they over-hire to run empires.

Bloated orgs, fake work, over-engineered fixes to simple problems until the exec gets promoted and bails, leaving layoffs and cleanup behind.
