Not sure why there's suddenly a complete freakout on the far right about bloodlust from liberals for revenge come 2029. Could be mirror propaganda to stir up preemptive crackdowns or just a realization of how hated these people are.

it's kind of wild that a guy died a little while ago and the government swore we would reap the whirlwind and that his widow would lead a howling army of valkyries across the galaxy and then the most you heard about it since was the secretary of domestic war saying they arrested the wife of antifa

From a strategic perspective, I'm struck by how the Trump administration seems to view its strategy as using 'red states' to hold down 'blue states' but the actual gap between Illinois and Texas is fairly small - IL is D+6, TX is R+6 or so. These aren't even 55/45 states, they're both 53/47 states.

You think you can just keep printing infinite money forever? FORGET IT! Mega-franchises don't work like that! People get bored! You can ONLY print infinite money for a VERY LONG TIME.

Hopefully the diminishing returns of Marvel and Star Wars will teach movie studios that if you oversaturate every stratum of the media landscape, it will ONLY work flawlessly for maybe 10-15 years! You will only make about thirty billion dollars, and that's IT! 25 movies TOPS!!!

Every time I hear a streamer use the r-slur, I'm unable to divorce it from them saying "I support fascism because not slurring people was a line too far."

When the word bounces off my ears, I hear it not as thoughtless derogatory speech, but an ideological announcement.

I can't be the only one.

It's great being in a relationship where your partner is the first person you notify about the announcement of third season of Genddy Tartakovsky's Primal, and she reacts with a GIF of the original He-Man throwing his head back and bellowing YESSSSSS! against a sparkling rainbow backdrop.

matt, do you think that it is good or bad electoral strategy to repeatedly announce in public that you are stabbing people in the back rather than letting them come to the conclusion that you are doing so on their own.

in your own words, would you say that this increases or decreases the salience?

I think that Democrats winning more elections would be extremely beneficial on net for all the relevant groups, even if what it took to get there was some moderation on specific positions.
brown-ramsey.bsky.social
You’ve been on every major platform imaginable saying in one way or another that the democrats can function by cleaving random marginal groups because doing so would be electorally advantageous. This is the right’s fault, but it is also YOUR fault for trying to get in on their game, too, *******!

So, fun fact: about 94 years ago (1931); Texas and Oklahoma essentially declared interstate war on eachother over a bridge/border toll-rights dispute that involved their National Guards and martial law. It was called the "Red River Bridge War" and lasted two weeks.

Oklahoma’s Republican governor criticizes guard deployment. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/09/u...
Gov. Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma, a Republican and the chairman of the National Governors Association, on Thursday criticized the deployment of Texas National Guard troops to Illinois as a violation of his beliefs in federalism and “states’ rights.”

His comments, in an interview with The New York Times, marked the first time a Republican governor has questioned the interstate deployment of National Guard troops over a governor’s objections. Gov. JB Pritzker of Illinois and other Democratic elected officials have been strongly critical of the move and have implored Republican governors to join the opposition.

Mr. Stitt on Thursday said, “We believe in the federalist system — that’s states’ rights,” adding, “Oklahomans would lose their mind if Pritzker in Illinois sent troops down to Oklahoma during the Biden administration.”

"The Simpsons" by Sherri L. Smith, Jeanette Bose and Jason Ho, 1998-2002
September 22nd, 2002 as seen in the Sacramento Bee
Sunday comic strip "The Simpsons," a tie-in to the animated show of the same name. Homer takes Lisa to a museum exhibit on neanderthals. While the museum guide details how ancient man gathered food, a hungry Homer spies a vending machine. When his food gets stuck, he starts to violently rattle the machine, reflecting the guide's description of neanderthal behavior. The vending machine falls on top of Homer, and the guide tells Lisa to leave him, "it's nature's way."

Aside from the obvious antisemitism, there's also more evidence for the "everyone is twelve years old" theory of government.

This is like when kids decided that if your index finger and ring finger were the same length it meant you were gay.

Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

"Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol. None of this is positive..."
