In a work meeting where my coworkers are talking about their Elf on the Shelf traditions as well as how we can incorporate more AI into our workflow.
I hate both of these things and feel like a grumpy old man. Just trying to keep my mouth shut.

How are people still on that platform? It’s the easiest time I’ve had quitting a social media site.
Twitter (X) tries to "reprogram" its users.
The average user gets limited engagement for what they WANT to talk about, and more engagement for drama bait.
If you don't chase the algorithm, you get de-boosted—Your actual interests getting almost no attention at all.
I prefer quality over quantity.

Took part in the economic black out, didn't buy a dang thing. It felt refreshing to hunker down and appreciate what I already have instead of deal hunting with everyone else.

With how expensive consoles (and everything else) is getting I think I'll just stay with my Series X. It plays the games I want and I have more than enough backlog.

I don't love Spotify but every now and then I'm tempted to use it for listening to podcasts as well. Sounds nice having one fewer app.
I usually get tired of having to navigate it for both music and podcasts tho and end up redownloading Apple podcasts.

Just got an email saying my water bill is going up by 14% next year.
It really is death by a thousand cuts. I've slowly dropped a lot of subscriptions, eating out less, being so much more frugal. Even then money just gets more and more tight.

30 hours into Pokemon Z-A and this game still has its hooks in me. Sure, the graphics should be better but I'm just out here training up my teams and trying to catch em all!

I have tried to replace my occasional fast food habit with supporting local places instead.
Prices went up and it now costs $17 to get a black coffee and breakfast sandwich from the local coffee shop.
I get it and I'll still support them but it can't be a weekly visit for me anymore.

At the end of the day I have to remind myself I'm not a high end specs snob.
I still enjoy my Wii, I play my Series X on a 13 year old 40 1080p tv. It all looks good enough to me.
Fun games are fun.
(future me: remember this the next time you want to spend extra on 4k Blurays)
