The colorful leaves of a "Chenille plant" on an emerging stem. The main rosette is hidden behind. It was planted as a cutting and seems to like this location. Echeveria pulvinata. A crested example of a "Golden rat tail" cactus. Hildewintera aureispina An "Aurora Borealis" with its beautiful pastel leaf colors. Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi 'Rosy Dawn' A Copiapoa hypogaea. It had a couple small pups when my wife purchased it, but it's grown several more in a short time. It's very small now but they do get bigger. The large stem is developing the white dusty farina that protects the plant from the sun.

A pot of rosette succulents in various shapes and sizes. A large purply green Graptoveria 'Fred Ives' is at the top. A pale lotus flower-like Echeveria 'Lola' is in the center 3 green rosettes with a resemblance of artichokes are Graptopetalum bellum. The smallest rosettes are a light green with tapered leaves - those are Sedeveria 'Peckerwood.' At 2 o'clock in the pot is a Echeveria subcorymbosa. It has thinner leaves of a light blue shade with red leaf margins.

A Starfish Aloe (Aloe cameronii) with some remaining summer color. The pups are getting big! A quintet of astrophytum asterias 'super kabuto." Each has its own unique white markings on a green body. They're small and round with eight ribs A couple of Frailea castanea in a small pot. They're round and look like a small pincushion. A "Blue glow" agave with a much larger mangave in the background. A red and yellow paddle plant is in between.

Actually, I would put money on the outcome being that the insurance company accepts the diagnoses as correct but rejects coverage on the grounds that he's untreatable.

The DSM codes are 301.81 and 301.7. Sometimes, treating professionals spend hours arguing with insurance companies that the patient’s symptoms warrant treatment. Given his long-standing history and significant symptomatology, getting his treatment covered by insurance would be a slam dunk.

I thought the NY Times piece about Trump today was pretty good. But I'd add that I don't really have that much of a problem with him indiscriminately falling asleep. I have a bigger problem with the fact that he keeps waking up.

A young "Star flower" plant (Orbea variegata) with its first bloom. It is a carrion flower, but am happy to report the smell is pretty mild. 🌱

A Star flower plant aka starfish cactus (Orbea variegata fka Stapelia variegata). It has thin green stems in a dense growth pattern. There's a single large five pointed flower in a star shape. It has gold and black markings. A small star is inside a ring in the center. Note: this was mistakenly identified as a stapelia gigantea in a previous post, but the flowers are always the best clue!

Growing succulents under trees can be tricky, but not for these two. A Foxtail Agave and Saucer Aeonium looking good in the rain this morning. 🌱

A potted Agave attenuata "Foxtail agave" and a large Aeonium urbicum "Saucer Plant. The Foxtail is planted in a 45° angle pot since they grow at this angle towards the sun. It has several wide leaves that come to a point. The Saucer plant has several large rosettes. The largest is 18" wide.
