It was 1989...Waldenbooks was still owned by KMart.

We would have these slat wall displays...all of the overstock was stored on openly above the shelves...

We used to RIP THE COVERS OFF MASS MARKET BOOKS AND THROW THE TEXT AWAY.

It was madness.
Waldenbooks was Mad Max of bookstores. Shit piled everywhere, every aisle. It was glorious.
I miss Borders. (And Waldenbooks specifically)
