Glad this parasite Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has been stripped of his privileges. Sad that it took so long and the suicide of someone affected by his entitlement. As others are saying, maybe we now should be questioning the hereditary rights of the royal family.

Amid all the fuss, remember that for much of the 1960s and 1970s, "the Spare" Andrew Windsor was just one unfortunate incident away from being the next king.

Hopefully, this appalling saga will lead to a proper national debate on our hereditary monarchy.

Long, long overdue.

Celia Imrie’s response on Traitors Uncloaked when told whom the traitors were, was brilliant. What a legend. #celebritytraitors

So for anyone in psychoanalysis, what was your experience of using the couch for the first time? Do you feel that it helped you to access your unconscious?

Can’t believe fireworks going off again tonight in Glasgow. I thought you were only allowed to buy them a few days before 5th November. They’ve been going off since last week in Glasgow. Luckily my cats don’t bother with them but feel it for other animals whom are petrified of them.

Really enjoying another Walter presents drama on Channel 4. Classified a French Canadian drama, got some great actors/actresses in it. Having a lazy day on the sofa whilst it’s raining outside. Bonus being I’m on annual leave.

Here I am in March 2020 wearing the PPE that was available at the time for frontline services about to see an influx of extremely sick people with SARS-CoV-2 now known as COVID-19.

I watched many die.
Colleagues died.

Michelle Mone should be in jail.
And she should only be the first on a long list

Followed recommendation from colleague about taking Magnesium LThreonate for sleep. Taking 2000mg capsules, very surprising that am sleeping better after only 2 days. Deeper sleep and less “awake disturbances” on sleep monitoring app. And feel tired before going to bed.

September weekend means extra sleep… so needed.

I watched the Stillpoint History of Psychoanalysis Analysis Lectures on YouTube today. Donald Winnicott was some work horse. Worked with around 60,000 mothers. Love his belief “change the technique not the patient”. & said at one point to someone he was seeing “you can cry on my hands” -beautiful.

Having grown up in the US and spent my adult life in the UK, I can only see the US “health system” as a form of brutality.

The NHS may be far from perfect, but I’ll take flawed over brutal any day of the week.

Tough day today. Struggling with missing my mum now that she is in care. Lewy Body Dementia sucks & the fact that it steals any joy that my mum used to have adds to the pain that we feel as a family. I can only hope that her paranoia & delusions lift a bit to allow her to let us all in.

I’m a bit bored of the “let’s stop dementia in its tracks” lazy trope of “fast dementia” — the Pharma led drive to #cure #dementia as instantaseously as fast food or fast fashion. open.substack.com/pub/shibley/...
Fast dementia
The bug of fast consumerism already is laying claim to our societal approach to dementia.

Today will be hellish. Having to take my mum off the island she has lived on since the age of 12. 61 years later she is moving into a nursing home in Glasgow, due to Lewy Body Dementia. Her husband of 53 years will be separated from her. As a society we need to do better for our elderly people.
