Kansas to Belgium with stops along the way. More likely to reply/like than skeet, since most of you say it better/funnier than I can. True blue, both politics and baseball. I confess to being earnest - I think it's important.

I'm off to a wine-tasting soon, so yes, I'm grabbing onto all the wine - er, I mean small joys - I can. Hope your evening is peaceful. 🥰

Consistency is important.

There is no joy in Mudville . . .

Grab onto the small joys and know that you're doing the best you can.

Made me think of this.
Poem 'Halfway Down' by A.A. Milne. Next to the text is a picture of a young boy sitting on the middle step of a stairway carpeted with a red runner. Stuffed animals (one a teddy bear) are laying at the top of the stairs. Text reads:
Halfway down the stairs
Is a stair Where I sit. There isn't any
Other stair
Quite likeIt.
I'm not at the bottom,
I'm not at the top;
So this is the stair
WhereI always
Stop.

Halfway up the stairs
Isn't up
And isn't down.
It isn't in the nursery,
It isn't in the town.
And all sorts of funny
 thoughts
Run round my head.
"It isn't really
Anywhere!
It's somewhere else
Instead!"

He can barely see over all his floof! 😍

What a fun look back (Cookie Rojas!). Thanks for all the time spent putting this together - hope there's lots more talent coming up from the baseball academy. ⚾

Our cat used to do that, too. I think he just enjoyed expending some energy. Once he caught it, he would immediately flop down and have a nap, content with having defeated his nemesis.

I also loved doing these when they appeared in Highlights. Goofus and Gallant was another favorite!

Black-and-white picture of two children playing in woodland. Also in the picture, there are 12 hidden animals including an owl, a bat and a squirrel.

What a gorgeous view! You're lucky to get to enjoy that every day. Especially lovely in the autumn, but I'm sure every season is beautiful in it's own way.

Sounds like a fantastic day! I hope to someday visit the NLBM - you're lucky to have it so close by. Enjoy the book signing!

I found a video of the noise, but he was just doing the very first sound, not the honking sounds that follow. Kind of like one of those clown horns where you squeeze the rubber ball! It was the funniest thing.

We (my husband and I) did do a double-take! He was making a 'beeping' sound, which made it even funnier. I'd never heard a peacock do that, usually you hear their cry. I'm guessing he'll head home when he gets hungry!

This was not the animal I expected to see on my #walk in Belgium. Perhaps he wandered away from a nearby house, longing to escape into the wild.
A field of grasses and wildflowers in white, purple and green. A lone peacock stands out, irredescent in the sun.

There was one that lived in Central Park in New York, and he became quite the tourist attraction. Unfortunately he hasn't been seen since there since 2019, and NYers were bereft. (I think he just wanted some privacy and flew to a remote pond somewhere else.)

American Lidl? We don't have this particular costume in the Belgian stores, but I recognize the packaging/font/scarecrow. What's strange is that there are 'official' Wednesday Halloween products for sale this year at our stores, but not this knock-off.

A wonderful initiative - great for both sides. 💙

It wasn't Cole Porter, but just as sexy.
Michelle Pfeiffer in a red velvet dress, draped across a piano and singing 'Making Whoopee' into a microphone. A happy new year banner and a Christmas tree are in the background. Scene from the movie 'The Fabulous Baker Boys'.

She's tucked in your heart forever and now you're honoring her in your thoughts. I hope you'll find comfort in her memory and that you'll find peaceful sleep tonight. Sending you and your brother loving solace.

I knew he would work his magic (zazzle and zing will never let you down). You're very welcome!
