A lot of time and effort has gone into survey research around what is the best protest sign slogan, message, wording etc and to be frank the research is pretty clear the most effective things you can do at a protest are express joy and express camaraderie, don't overthink it

I think the reports about DHS social media accounts putting out white supremacist messaging have had it backwards: they’re not dog whistling, they just happen to really believe all that shit. As does the next generation

I am making my way through The Power Broker, Caro’s amazing biography of Robert Moses, right now, and I really wish more people would read it. I find it incredibly illuminating about Trump in so many ways.

Also, Gov Al Smith would have absolutely hated Trump.
