These people thinking Trump’s dystopian plan can be stopped - so sorry friend, that moment has passed.

From Rosencranz & Guildenstern are Dead:

“There must have been a moment, at the beginning, where we could have said ‘no’.

Except that it simply doesn't work. Especially rurally, where you're assessed over the phone & then shoved straight onto CHSP & told there are very few providers & no money for services & no waiting lists. As a disabled person entering the aged system I have run out of energy to deal with this.

Great article, such useful info - we meet next week with Mum’s (proposed) SAH provider & I will so use this info. Note for newbies to this administratively Byzantine system:

How to navigate the Support at Home maze
Australia’s revamped aged care system was supposed to streamline access and improve support. Instead, older people are confronting long waits, rising costs, confusing assessments and opaque rules that too often leave them without the help they need.

Here’s a fun little tax policy brought in by Treasurer Scott Morrison - sell your home to “downsize” and you can put $300k into your super.

The catch? You don’t actually need to downsize and it doesn’t even need to be your home. So yeah, it’s a rort

People living in disgusting conditions. Our Government is spending £476m on the militarisation of the border.

We must divert that money to a humanitarian response that treats people with basic dignity.
