While the mouse idea is cute, I had an idea within the last day of Ludum Dare around the theme "Collection"

Y'know in Skyrim, where you can only carry so much weight?

This afternoon has devolved into a good amount of refactoring & adding attributes to guns.

Projectiles now spawn from the edge of the barrel (the black dot) rather than the player's position

It's lunchtime and I haven't posted an update today. Oops!

Here's what's new:
- HUD
- Invincibility powerup
- Enemy drops
- Gun stats (bullets have a spread radius)
- A bug fix in my game engine when you accidentally remove an entity twice 🤦

After lunch I'm going to continue my work on the shotgun

I do love the timing for Ludum Dare (3p) & Advent of Code (9p) when on the west coast! I've got alllll afternoon to code up the foundation of the game.

My plan
- Friday: Foundation, get all systems in place
- Saturday: Tweak numbers, add content, refine
- Sunday: Bugfixes/polish

To prep for Ludum Dare, I added vitest to my repo & added a tag to mark where the repo was before the jam starts

I'm planning on making a roguelite, something along the lines of Nuclear Throne or AK-xolotl. Nothing super concrete yet though!

I'm going to officially start working on the game itself on Friday, when Ludum Dare starts, to see if I can get an MVP done within 48 hours.

Indies, there's a lot of beloved franchises out there that are just aching for indie reboots. While the IP is under copyrights the ideas are not; there's no reason we can't have an indie takes on The Sims, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect. The gameplay, the settings, the themes are all free to pick up.
