Oh hey new followers, time to do an intro pinned post! I'm Brett and I make art, zines, and comics too! I also dance, run a local figure drawing group, co-founded the Pouncepunk art challenge held every February, and am a kaiju enthusiast.
You can find more of my work at www.brettpunkart.com!
watercolor painting of a primitive church at Cades Cove in Tennessee in the autumn. The sky is blue, yellow, and orange, with purple paint dripping down. There are purple streaks throughout the church. Digital painting of an original kaiju called Bristorus, standing behind the downtown Bristol Virginia and Tennessee sign which says "A good place to live." The kaiju is blue, red, and white, with wavy fins on its back, torso, and legs. It's arms are scythes, and its tail has spikes on the end. It's head has a large forward pointing horn as well as additional side horns. A watercolor and ink painting of three figures sitting in a triangular composition around an ottoman, facing each other. Two of the figures are nude. A black and white zine page with a nude photo of Brett that has a drawing of a wolf head pasted over their face. The surrounding text states: "The realization hit one night as I considered home in the context of my body: I'M TRANS. Oh! It was the answer I've been avoiding all this time, the thought I continually buried, which I Saw the TV Glow brought into the light, refusing to let me look away. Just like that, things made more sense."

Things random strangers have given me today: a tiny green duck, a friendship bracelet, a gay pen from the local casino, a rainbow bandana from a realty group, and a purple ribbon to wear for domestic violence awareness.

TriPride is today and I had a minor breakdown setting up, but I'm here, queer, and ready to sell art!
A selfie, smiling, holding my hand up in a claw shape. My tables, covered in green tablecloths and covered in paintings, zines, prints, and more.

If you haven't read Shotaro Ishinomori's Kamen Rider manga, it is top tier stuff, some of the best action comics ever and you owe it to yourself to check it out.

The 2021 anime series Godzilla: Singular Point takes Shin Godzilla's idea of evolving kaiju forms and runs with it. Godzilla Aquatilis is the first form we see, its design inspired by Titanosaurus.

Chiitan has a dream.
I hope that one day the term LGBT will become a thing of the past.
I will continue to spread my message until we live in a world where everyone can love freely and is free from persecution and discrimination.
Until then, let's all support each other🤍

Off today, decided not to go out for the sake of my sanity and have just been chipping away at art stuff throughout the day before doing some needed bathroom cleaning. It's been nice. I won't get another break like this until...who knows!

Erin does great work on here, and this entire thread is well worth a read, not just for the information that contains, but because it'll make you feel better about what's going on in the country

4. Netflix, however, didn’t flinch—and a week later, its stock is up, the boycott a fizzle rather than a firestorm, a hollow echo of the successful Disney backlash led by liberals around the same time that followed Jimmy Kimmel’s firing.
Netflix stock up 2.19%

Fat phobia is prejudice: unethical, not philosophically sound, born of an ugly past that is actually rooted in oppression, and also, it’s just deeply uncool. It’s IN NO WAY an effective weapon against fascism. In fact, it’s got roots in elitist, classist, racist and fascist ideology

I don’t love the confluence of fat phobia & anti fascism. It’s a dissonance as these things do not go together.

Don’t conflate fat w/ fascism, because one is a moral failing and desire for authoritarianism while the other is genetics, or illness, or love of cake or none your bizness.

There are Norma Jean and Project 86 songs I loved in high school that still absolutely rip.

I enjoy modeling, I especially like listening to the professor teaching, but given the other work I do, the drive to and from, and other stuff, it's the one thing I should (but can't, at least not this month) drop from my absurd schedule.

Also mowing multiple lawns immediately afterwards sucked.

I'm getting too old for this shit, they said in the crowded parking garage early in the morning on their old college campus before walking to a three hour modeling gig.

We got these in at work today, and while I guess they are the world's smallest plush and stretchy Godzillas, they are not at all the world's smallest Godzilla toys.

I think the smallest I own is from one of the Trendmasters micro playsets.
A picture of two World's Smallest Godzillas in their weird packaging. On the left is a plush and on the right is a stretchy one. A shallow focus picture of my hand holding up the tiny Godzilla that comes in the Trendmasters micro playsets.

...this makes me wonder if they've produced toy G-cells from Godzilla Vs Biollante. And if not, then why not??

Okay but the new album isn't too bad I guess, it's that same middle of the road sort of thing she typically does

First episode of Digimon Beat Break didn't really click with me, but the style is undeniable.

This soundtrack was the first CD I got in middle school, and the inclusion of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Less Than Jake helped rewire my brain.

I tried to make the argument that Digimon: The Movie might legitimately have one of the best movie soundtracks of all time: www.crunchyroll.com/news/feature...

Look, I don't really know how to articulate it but at this stage of 2025 I am fairly convinced that Taylor Swift is a psyop.
