I remember liking clowns as a small child but as I got older and spent more time at my grandparents' I became disturbed by some clown paintings and tchotchkes they had around.
The freaky part is that years later no one else in my family can remember grandma having clown decorations up at the time..

Like yes, there are kids and/or adults who as kids were scared of clowns, but more often than not kids seem consistently down to clown

Great thread. I think there is one important caveat to this decision that I haven't seen discussion of yet, which is that the tribunal basically endorses the right of a facility to allow trans people to use sex-segregated facilities based on their gender identity *until someone complains.*

I was curious about the historical legal argument against birthright citizenship since the text seems pretty cut and dried, so I looked up the precedent at SCOTUS and the dissent is basically "the treacherous Chinaman knows no allegiance except to his heathen emperor." So it's always been racism.
bad actors like wurman are why i think it is important to place the birthright clause in the full context of section 1 and section 1 in the context of both dred scott and the two decades of antislavery and abolitionist agitation and political thinking that proceeded it
