Remember how glued to the TV we were on 9/11, to get news about our existential threat? That grip lasted for days. Since then, social media rose to fill that space, and its strangling grip has lasted for more than a decade since that golden calf rode down an escalator (stairs being too difficult)

SCOTUS is regularly invoking a 'pregnant pause' between thwarting a federal decision administratively (the fig leaf) and their rightful, full, "stare"-free evisceration of the decision and castigation of the subordinate federal judiciary itself (the Full bare assed Monty)

I think near the end of The Big Short, someone asked, "But where did all the money go?" It's a bit simplistic, but still applies, doesn't it? Sure, there maybe bonfires of money as assets plummet in value, but people paid real money for those assets. Someone sold the wood for the bonfire.

They found this one weird trick to subvert the US Constitution: have all three branches of government collude against the US Constitution, and the rule of law, and basic human decency. Because miserable people devote themselves to doing deplorable things, to "share" their pain.
