so today I've seen Chuck Schumer called a "Kapo" a "baby killer" and a "genocide apologist" all because of a bill he does not support and didn't vote for....

but you know... it has nothing to do with him being Jewish......

Tonight in 1833 was "The Night the Stars Fell”. A spectacular occurrence of the annual Leonid shower: "thousands of luminous bodies shooting across the firmament in every direction."
In Tennessee it convinced some slave owners that it was the end- they apologised to their slaves

One problem with the whole "the Dems should have held out" is that holding our longer means that the cave will have just taken longer, or the GOP will have ditched the filibuster. Neither option ends with restoring ACA funding at this point.

I do not think this is going to be the case because the underlying reality is the Democrats want to protect the ACA and the GOP wants to destroy it and one vote on a stopgap funding CR is not going to shift that.
Yes - this is a loss because Democrats have now signed on to ACA cuts as a complicit party and once again made it a less effective issue for the mid terms
From that perspective, this would be a failure, right? Because the Dems lose the narrative that they did everything to stand in the way of ACA cuts.

Yes, the caving was shameful. But again, there are only two solutions to all of this, & both require 15-20 Congressional Republicans to decide they care about the Republic more than power & party. No, it's not going to happen. That doesn't make it less true. These folks get free passes everyday.

You don’t need to be antisemitic, conspiratorial gutter trash & blame the specific PAC you don’t like because that PAC is the “bad Jewish people” & you wanna spout the protocols of the elders of Zion for why the government reopened. Just sub in Soros at this point like the right wing does.

This shit’s not cute. We can argue on whether the deal was enough or if it pins blame enough on the GOP re the subsidies. In the end, Thune betrayed Trump by refusing to listen & nuke the filibuster & Vought got thrown under the bus on RIF language immediately after Republicans lost some races.

If you don’t want hard choices & as many bad votes, vote Democrats into the majority in the first place like the Black & Jewish voters you like to speak over & lie on try to do. We didn’t have these issues under Biden & Harris with slimmer majorities. Blame the Republicans. It’s not hard.

Regardless of what the backroom specifics are that you’re bluntly not privy to, the blame for the suffering & the lose-lose situation is on Republicans who control a trifecta & everyone who keeps voting for or otherwise enabling them like conspiratorial trash such as the OP does.

In other words, whether it was this or a new proposal from the House, there was going to be a new version requiring at least half of Congress to vote anyway. Leadership voted no, the House Dems are loudly against this, & so is the DNC. The House can be emotional when the Senate can’t always.

Now the House Republicans have to actually pass it anyway if they even can while they’re at each other’s throats & it’s not “clean” which means reconvening & Grijalva likely being sworn in because Johnson loses his fake coverage. The House one expired in less than 2 weeks anyway.
