One of my best memories as a Dad came about two months ago after I received my #autism diagnosis. I'll remember my 5 yr old's smile when I told him that I'm autistic just like him for the rest of my life. It was something I never knew I needed.

So happy #FathersDay to my fellow dads of all kinds.

Dear autistic community,

May this new year be filled with:

- acceptable textures
- sufficient executive function
- people who don’t say “but everyone’s a bit autistic”
- instructions that are actually complete
- being believed the first time ❤️

No, closer.

I have a New Year’s secret for you.

It’s this:

If you care about people you don’t even know, and try to live your life that way, you are absolutely beautiful no matter what you look like.

Yes to this entire thread.
What does autism look like?

People often say, “you don’t look autistic.”
That usually says more about expectations than about autism. 1/8

You have to be a special kind of depraved to support stripping resources from programs designed to support disabled kids and their caretakers. But we are talking about the Trump Administration, so that complete depravity absolutely tracks.
A state program in Wisconsin for deafblind children helped a 3-year-old, born with poor vision and no ears, learn to communicate. The Trump administration cut the program’s funding over goals related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
