Handing back student work that’s been written by ChatGPT with a 0 followed by the comment “This essay will never stand in authentic wonder before the Beauty of God’s creation.”
Pope Leo XIV told students not to use artificial intelligence for homework, saying that AI ‘won’t stand in authentic wonder before the beauty of God’s creation.’

this is extremely true but somehow the inverse is also true. If you’re a formula 1 driver, you’re asked to drive a toyota carolla.
the “thanksgiving food is bad” discourse raises its ugly head every year, but the truth remains that thanksgiving food can be amazing as long as you know how to cook. the problem is we’re throwing a few million sunday drivers directly into a grand prix
I think this is unfair to turkey. turkey is good but hard to cook well because it is so damn big. turkey *parts* are great but lack the esthetic appeal of a centerpiece bird.

in a lot of heavily spiced recipes, it doesn’t matter if you use chicken broth or water with nutritional yeast and some salt.
what’s a kitchen thing you do that you don’t actually believe is doing anything (I’m expecting lots of Bay Leaf Truthers)

Mine is I blister and peel my poblanos before stuffing and baking them, but I don’t truly think the skins are tough enough to warrant it, it’s just what I was told to do 🍽️ 🍜

I came in with complicated feelings about existing IP and theatre but there are EXCITED TEENS here! They will come back if we also have plays besides Yelling in a Living Room, Trauma, or Lauren Gunderson!

I said “6-7 feet” in class yesterday and the entire class lost it. I asked them what was funny and they told me I wouldn’t get it. I was like “you know I’m going to look it up, right?” and you know what, they were right, I didn’t get it.

if you cant figure out how casting amateur anorexic women in bit parts to perform 8x a week with their actual bodies in front of actual people in a professional play about something else with a director, writer, and (male) lead without ed, find another art form. hopefully something you can do alone
When a theater invited people with eating disorders to act in a play about Joan of Arc this fall, some psychologists and parents argued that it risked glamorizing the condition. But one performer with anorexia described the experience as empowering: “Onstage, I can be who I really am.”

you cannot sit out a day, I’ll be precipitously close to not giving a shit about part 2 tomorrow. I am LIVING for this, not living for this.
As a former mean girl who went to therapy to get boring, I regret how much I am LIVING for the double-z drama.

the president is a mirror. you look inside the mirror and find a concave mirror. it lights you on fire. everything is warped, not concave mirror-warped, fire warped and everything is fucked up, not colonialism fucked up, but fucked up like the software box that pops up and you have to click "agree"

If you hate planning for a party, let me introduce you to the personal administration day, a concept I learned about in Rome—separate from a sick day or vacation, you say, fuck work, fuck multitasking, this is getting done now.

Do New York City subways still need conductors? Some say a second pair of eyes on the train helps keep passengers safe. But many transit advocates call it unnecessary, costly and an obstacle to faster service.
Does the Subway Still Need Train Conductors?
Gov. Kathy Hochul must decide by year’s end whether to sign a law that would mandate two-person crews on all trains, a practice critics say is costly and outdated.
