Core Space and Maladum are my favorite skirmish games cuz of the absurd moments they create (but their is still lots of combat) and I want more little skirmish games to focus on stories and emergent narrative

Looking at Guards of Traitor’s Toll, and while the setting doesn’t do much for it, this focus on emergent narrative and less on combat is very interesting.

I'm reminded of art school critiques. A student says "I like the colors." Which adds nothing to the discourse. Then the teacher challenges them to create context with "WHY do you like the colors?" This creates discussion. To me, this seems to be Dan's goal with fun and challenge to all of us.
