Every time I see this I choke up. The outpouring of grief and sympathy from the public is great, the flowers and fencing and cross all great, but the reason for all of it is unchanged. I can't help picturing all that eventually being cleared, the street reopened, but Alex still gone. Forever.

In previous instances of state violence, usually the agencies involved would at least pretend to urge restraint from their officers. DHS/ICE is obviously and explicitly telling its ghouls to escalate every possible situation toward a violent end.
