They don’t want to endear themselves, they want to instill fear. They want employees to be afraid for their paychecks, their job protections, etc. They are trying to create a crabs in the bucket situation where workers accept scraps & pull down other workers who might try to rock the system.

Not a thought to how rural areas have limited access to reliable service for streaming. (Esp. bad now that those programs were cut by the current admin). And no concern for how those areas will get emergency weather notifications, national news, etc.

Much of US gov’t is based on spit & a handshake or historical precedent.

The Heritage Foundation & the GOP have stress-tested & are exploiting every weak point created by relying on governance by gentlemen’s agreements rather than robust democratic supports. We all lose b/c of its fragility.

Debating which direction Roger Marshall might go.
On the one hand, he is a Dr & presumably trained to know the value of vaccines.
On the other hand, he’s a complete MAGA toadie, & has stated that he thinks poor people get sick b/c they don’t care about their health.
Either way, he’s terrible.
