What makes The Berenstain Bears (2002) stand out among kids’ slice-of-life cartoons of this show’s era (including Nelvana’s own) is that the parents are flawed, but caring enough about their kids to mature with them.

If you are a parent yourself, be more like Mama and Papa Bear.

I dunno about you guys, but I'd kill for there to be a company following the exact model Owen describes in this thread. And I would dead seriously invest some real good money into helping make it happen.

If you're at an American company, there are very obvious solutions to this, you just have to implement them. All you have to do is greenlight the animated movies that you know have been pitched to you.

This is possible. We can make this money (and probably more) with American animation too.

Theatrical anime is doing (better than) Hollywood numbers, with Chainsaw Man even getting a lot of IMAX screens. And it's been fascinating to see the conversation and reviews move from genre and enthusiasts sites onto just movie sites and movie sections. It's not nerd culture anymore. Just culture.
