Ken Paxton and John Cornyn claim to stand for freedom, family, and faith.

But you can't stand for freedom and control women's bodies.

You can't stand for family and vote against paid family leave.

You can't stand for faith and sell out the poor to give tax cuts to the rich.

Laughable. The base of the party is made up of frogs, unicorns, teletubbies, zebras, chickens, raccoons and sharks. We have seen the battle footage coming out of Portland.
Leavitt: "The Democrat Party's main constituency is made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals."

During the 2021 freeze, Griddy made lots of headlines for charging customers thousands of $$ for electricity.

It agreed to forgive all unpaid bills in a settlement w/ the Texas AG. Those who paid could seek reimbursements.

Years later, customers haven't gotten back a dime. 🧵
why wait? hasn't it already been 3 weeks

Speaker Johnson, your stalling tactics are suppressing the voices of Arizonans who elected Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva in September. The American people deserve representation and the final vote to release the Epstein files. (1/2)
so Jenna had to service a governor and a former US senator

How many other elected officials were clients? Enough to make sure epstein was protected (for a while at least) and enough to stall the release of the files.

Something to watch: A federal court order has, for years, banned the New Orleans sheriff from helping ICE.

Louisiana Republicans are now trying to lift that order to force NoLa to comply.

The outgoing sheriff fought that. The incoming sheriff told Bolts she'd be fine with the order lifting.
In New Orleans, a New Sheriff Will Take the Helm of a Jail Marred by Abuses
Police veteran Michelle Woodfork won the sheriff’s race, at a time when federal consent decrees barring ICE collaboration and lifting detention conditions may be ending.

This is not acceptable.

We have a health care crisis right now. We need a solution now, not a pinky promise from Republicans to maybe get around to voting on a solution in the future.

Only about one-fifth of applicants for federal disaster assistance from Kerr County have been deemed eligible to get financial help so far, leaving hundreds without governmental aid more than three months after deadly floods ravaged the county on July 4.
FEMA denied or didn’t advance most Kerr County flood requests
Advocates are questioning why so many applicants from the flood-ravaged county have not received federal disaster help. Nonprofits are trying to fill in the gaps.

The Voting Rights Act fulfilled the promise of American democracy: one voice, one vote. This landmark legislation gave Latino, Black and minority communities a chance at fair representation in politics.

Now, the conservative Supreme Court is on the verge of gutting it.
