Rich people are threatening to leave Washington State and California if they get taxed.
It would be really funny if they did, and. we found out we didn't miss them at all, that the economy did better without them!

Apparently, the video is from Montreal, after a very unexpected ice and snow storm. Thus proving that ANY city can be caught unprepared, and also that NO ONE driving a motorized vehicle really knows what's going to happen driving on snow and ice.

It is time to revive a very useful term from early computing:
GIGO
"Garbage In, Garbage Out"
Conclusions from data sets are only as good as the data.
What (f'rex) is AI telling you? What are its inputs? How reliable are they?
If you don't know, chances are they're Garbage.
Don't trust them.

Just found out my favorite mystery-thriller author, Thomas Perry, died a couple months ago. His last book - and, now, the last Jane Whitefield book ever - will be published next year.
I recommend him highly to anyone who likes intelligent, well-plotted mysteries.

In the past few days, I've seen at least three Waymo vehicles tooling around Seattle's north end.
I think they're mapping rather than autonomous taxis, because they have what seem like a lot of sensors: a big AWACs-style dish on the roof, and an adorable revolving light thingie on the rear.
