Social media has taught us to abandon the fine art of just keeping one's mouth shut sometimes.

I encourage everyone to look out for their safety and practice good internet hygiene, of course. But some of the scolding posts I've read suggest we can change the awful aftermath of a fateful event by just holding our tongues and being quiet little mice, and that isn't my experience.

That reminds me that when my 3rd place prize of a refrigerator from Jeopardy was delivered during a torrential El Nino storm in spring 1989. We couldn't get it into my tiny apartment, so I sold it to the guy driving the delivery truck.
That was back when Jeopardy prizes were crap.

I've learned a lot of weird things about extreme heat and desert living but I didn't expect the seam glue in my pool raft to melt.

Camarillo's a VERY conservative town filled with retirees & workers from adjacent Naval bases.
They won't even open a dispensary there & now I find out there's a large grow op?

Ugh. Not a good week for what supposed to be a short backsplash tile job. After many delays & a lousy grout job he promises to redo but I doubt I'll get what I paid for.
Last time I was screwed this hard by a contractor it ended up with him owing me child support.
