All the environmental devastation and animal suffering is genuinely not worth it. It’s just laziness.

I’ve been veg for 30 years, but every few years I take a bite of meat as I wonder if there’s something truly grand & aesthetically pleasing I’m missing. Dear reader, I am here to tell you there‘s absolutely nothing I am missing. Not the tinny taste, not the fibrous texture, not the weird aftertaste.

"Another example of the antichrist in great works of art," continued Thiel, "is the masked terrorist who, no matter how many times he is foiled, continues his schemes."

Thiel paused for effect then spoke slowly, his words carrying the weight of the world:

"Swiper, no swiping. And yet he swipes."

As I’ve said before, I think Oct 18 may be a day of great historical significance

What's the over-under on these people starting to beg for federal dollars when they can't find a private builder for this pipeline to nowhere even as they scream "sOcIAliSm!" and "Fuck Carney!" and undermine federalism at every turn?

🧵1/5: It is worth reminding Canadians - and the federal government - that provinces do not have a veto over inter-provincial pipelines, like the one proposed by the Alberta government.

a strong case could also be made that if you were confused by why Bill and Ted would cast themselves in WAITING FOR GODOT, you might also not fully understand Bill and Ted
clairewillett.bsky.social
a strong case could be made that in fact, by selecting this play for themselves to star in, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have demonstrated that they understand WAITING FOR GODOT better than anyone else alive

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

What the actual fuck??? This is a really scary situation. This family is already facing death threats which is why they are leaving.

Because Dr. Bray is a scholar of anti-fascism.

“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second.

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

In addition to Comey, Trump’s DOJ is supposedly about to charge John Bolton, and is in the process of investigating Christopher Wray and John Brennan. It seems like they’re trying to go after any former official from Trump’s first term who has since become a critic of him.

Remember that "Pam: I have reviewed ..." TruthSocial post from Trump, the one that looked a lot like a private message?

Yes, it was supposed to be a private message.

Trump "was surprised to learn it was public."

This is getting wild.

The states of Iowa, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and 14 others have just asked for permission to file THEIR amicus brief in IL v. Trump.
The States of Iowa, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina and 14 additional States
respectfully move for leave to submit the attached amicus curiae brief in support of Defendants
and their opposition to Plaintiffs’ requested temporary restraining order and preliminary
injunction. Proposed amici are States with a vested interest in federalism, the relationship between
States and the federal government, and deploying the National Guard. We also each have a vital
interest in supporting the President and Congress in enacting and enforcing valid immigration
laws. Every State has a responsibility to protect our citizens.
The federalization of States’ National Guard units is a matter of profound public
importance, as it directly implicates the delicate balance of power between state and federal
governments—a true cornerstone of Federalism. States generally maintain authority over their
National Guard units, allowing governors to deploy them for state-specific needs, such as disaster
response or public safety. Federalization of state National Guard units without gubernatorial

My gosh. After the US bombed multiple boats in the middle of the ocean, murdering people on grounds that they were allegedly "carrying drugs," the US Attorney General says "Just like we did with cartels, we're going to take the same approach, President Trump, with Antifa."
