NEW: Saturday's shooting prompted a frantic rush to the courts by Minnesota officials to demand legal restrictions on ICE agents' use of force — and an outright block on Operation Metro Surge.

They were bolstered by harrowing witness affidavits.

The killings will continue until you give us the state voter rolls
Fox News: "I've gotten my hands that AG Bondi said she sent to Gov. Tim Walz. It is strongly worded. The AG calls for the governor to support the men and women of ICE, to repeal the state's sanctuary policies, and to allow the DOJ to access state voter rolls."

What's making me really livid right now is thinking back to the years of commentary lecturing us that the rise of MAGA was rooted in a sense of righteous victimization by overbearing liberal elites, and sneering at those who insisted that it was fundamentally about domination and sadism all along.
They are telling us in unequivocal terms that if you show solidarity with immigrants who are in the literal crosshairs of Trump/MAGA, you're risking a death sentence.

By who? Who shot the person dead? You saw the video. We all know a federal agent shot a man dead who was prone on the ground. Also, it's not "according to officials." It's according to verified video seen with your eyes. Not saying what anyone can obviously see with their eyes is a form of lying.

On Wednesday, the Dallas County Commissioners Court posthumously exonerated Tommy Lee Walker of rape and murder, determining that the prosecutor in the case and the police had steered his conviction by an all-white jury, during the Jim Crow era, and violated his constitutional rights.

An all-white jury convicted Tommy Lee Walker of rape and murder, relying on inadmissible evidence and a coerced confession that he immediately recanted, county officials said.

UPDATE: Now, 215 Minneapolis General Strike solidarity actions are being held around the country.

This could create serious momentum for strikes in other cities where ICE attacks.

Democrats just funded this. I'm having trouble seeing a way forward if there's not a serious opposition party.
"Liam, age 5, was the fourth child in the district to be detained by immigration agents in the past two weeks, school officials said.

"Two of them are high-schoolers.

"One is a 10-year-old girl who was apprehended on her way to school..."

hard to argue with this conclusion.
If @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social wasn’t a feckless coward, he would have whipped these votes, and the DHS bill would have failed, 213-214.

These 7 Dems are traitors who support ICE terrorism, & House Dem leadership has made themselves complicit by refusing to even ATTEMPT to talk them into voting no
NEW: DHS appropriations bill funding ICE passes 220-207

7 Democrats voted YES on the bill:
- Jared Golden
- Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
- Henry Cuellar
- Tom Suozzi
- Laura Gillen
- Don Davis
- Vicente Gonzalez

One Republican voted NO: Thomas Massie

Hard to reconcile the ICE account being here.

People are banned for threats, but ICE can shoot completely innocent people dead, commit countless acts of violence, break the law, yet still be allowed here?

There's something fundamentally wrong with that.

It's not like there's shortage of evidence.

It's notable we no longer hear VCs and billionaires talking about universal basic income (UBI).

Or maybe I just tuned them out.

Communities should fight back and demand off-grid renewables for any new energy demands of AI, and yes: slow the whole thing down.
Bernie Sanders: "We need to be thinking seriously about a moratorium on data centers. You gotta slow this process down. It's not good enough for the oligarchs to tell us 'you adapt.' Are they gonna guarantee healthcare to all people? What are they gonna do when there are no jobs? Make housing free?"

Agreed. RGGI, for instanace, has led to the reduction of CO2 emissions at major industrial polluters like power plants in the participating states by 50% since 2009.

Proceeds from the permit auctions exceed $8 billion, reinvested in energy efficiency programs in those states.

It works quite well
Nothing in this David Victor essay indicates that there’s any danger in heating the planet over 2C. Instead, he says that slowing decarbonization is good. 🤔
