It's not that I'm easily distracted; it's just that I'm fascinated by everything. Currently reading about the Neolithic -- next month it'll be something else. Unschooler Emeritus
It's weird how after every good thing/gain (even if we don't call it a victory) people circle up to insist we shouldn't celebrate. Celebrating is not how people give up, in my experience; believing we can't win, never win, and have no power is (with a side of joylessness).
I don't keep doomers in my feed but since apparently some folks do: "celebrate each and every win, loudly" is Organizing 101

If I sent a letter saying I would continue to inflict violence and murder on a community unless that community made legal concessions to me, I would go to prison.

The majority of organizing happening in Minnesota isn’t just peaceful, it’s INVISIBLE. Moms showing up who won’t be interviewed on TV, people whose ICE patrols don’t turn into viral video. The grocery runs, the donations, the people filming bc they happen to be there. Please remember this.

I’m seeing enough people talking about the impracticality of “mass deportation”—tens of millions of people!—that I feel the need to point out that the numbers are a bit of a red herring here. What Trump et al. are signaling with the word “mass” isn’t scale; it’s arbitrariness.

As false information about the rapidly changing war between Gaza Strip militants and Israel proliferated on the social media platform X over the weekend, owner Elon Musk personally recommended that users follow accounts notorious for promoting lies.

If you want there to be F&SF fiction mags, we need to do something now, while Amazon is removing their support. Check out one mag's website today and support them, if you have the means. Or just RT this if you can't, because the situation is pretty dire.

It's a looming crisis that the coverage of race between Biden and Trump barely ever hits on the immutable fact that only the current POTUS actually understands what the job entails. In the four years in office Trump never grasped the job beyond the demands of an insatiable press gaggle.
