One parent’s objection shouldn’t empty an entire library. If every “objectionable” word meant removal, shelves would be bare. Censorship never stops at one book. Public schools serve *all* students.

Breaking news: New baby alpaca born a few hours ago. So we moved the moms & young ones to another prairie so the big boys—male llamas and horses—don’t play too rough with the baby.

Amazing photo. Be sure to read the alt-text!
This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

so I saw that "Reform Party" was trending and I'm like whaaat so I look and it's in Britain but then i look closer and they plagiarized these tactics from Preston Manning, they're going to split the right, then when both parties fail they will merge and the reformers will swallow the tories whole

Sadly, this criminal nonsense is still ongoing. 💔
1. In an extraordinary public flogging, the Florida State Board of Education repeatedly threatened a school superintendent with criminal prosecution unless he removed a Judy Blume book from all library shelves.

One member called the district librarians "child abusers."

Instead: go to local news. Here’s my outlet I write for. There are others.
