He was demonstrably a mossad asset! The liberal urge to blame Russia for all our problems is astonishing.

The right level of unemployment - the rate high enough to prevent workers getting any fancy ideas about having bargaining power. Most economists think this is the mid 4s - about 130,000 kiwis. That should be enough to force people into uberised, precarious jobs working for assholes. Great. [4/n]

The red & blue lot both buy-in to this economic management approach. It's been 'TINA' since the 1980s... Use a bufferstock of unemployed people to suppress wages/worker power, let whole towns die, and keep benefits mean af to force people to take jobs that aren't fit for human consumption. [Ends]

A initial abridged version meant to represent a more positive take "outlined a 'realistic possibility' that the decline of forests and glacier-fed rivers would lead to 'global competition for food' beginning in the 2030s."

Food wars by the 2030s. That's the optimistic version.

I am physically incapable of taking a deep enough breath to accommodate all the swears I have about our nations current leadership.
With currently about double the support NZF had at the 2023 election, if reflected in a new government their influence could be twice as strong.

But how can liberal politicians and Western governments (& news outlets, & unis) complain about a US president having no basis in reality, when for two+ years THEY have had no basis on reality in approaching Gaza? An obvious genocide? Which anyone could clearly see? bsky.app/profile/flyi...
What did we think Trump was going to do, if Europe showed him we would fully collaborate on the total destruction of the Gaza Strip and ferociously repeat even the most absurd lies about it to our citizens? Did we think he would decide: best to not push the law breaking and war crimes, be sensible.

This denial of reality (& attempted gaslighting of billions of people by saying to them "Believe us, not your own lying eyes, which are looking at a video of a child turned into soup in a bag") has undermined a critical mass of faith in the "international rules based order" bsky.app/profile/flyi...
From the @equatormag.bsky.social mission statement and damn, was that ever proven 100% correct in short order.

I've been thinking about this a lot, for months: Gaza was a breaking point between verifiable reality and liberal governance. "AI" sparks fears ppl will believe things that aren't true, but Gaza SHOWED things that WERE true—& western governments, universities & news outlets pretened they were not.

It’s amazing: they cheer on the right wing ghouls who are in charge through one avoidable catastrophe after another, all the while screaming abuse at the left, who have not been in charge at any point. *Decades* of this idiotic horseshit, and not a crack in the facade.

Hey the voter suppression laws mean you can only vote up to twelve days before November 7 and have to be registered thirteen days before that. Twelve days before Nov 7 is 26 October. THAT IS LABOUR DAY. THE ELECTION VOTING STARTS ON LABOUR DAY.

Can we finally all accept that placating and accommodating the far right didn't and will never work?

While we're at it, can we stop taking them at their word when they pretend they care about democracy, free speech, peace etc and that they are not far right because they say so?
This is utterly deranged.

The failure of the New Deal conclusively proves that the communists of the 1930s shouldn't have accepted crumbs, because every concession that the capitalist class makes will always be clawed back from workers, and everything will end up being worse as a result.
The new deal didn’t work. The capitalist class should not exist at all
