It's also worth noting that anyone working in social media and audience engagement editing worth their salt has known for years that engagement and traffic Twitter is low to negligible volume. The ROI has been in downward decline for a long time.

I have done *counts on fingers* 65+ interviews about Twitter and doomscrolling. Anyone who still says "Twitter is where the action is" probably isn't referring to the overwhelmingly negative actions of harassment, rage-baiting, Nazi-boosting, dog-piling, bigotry amplifying, and sea-lioning.

And abortion should be part of regular healthcare. Your regular physician should prescribe mife/miso, not a stranger at an exiled clinic. If you need or want a surgical, it should be at the same day surgery center where you get a colonoscopy or a biopsy or egg retrieval, with the same anesthesia.
This is an important point: people get abortions earlier in pregnancy when it’s available earlier in pregnancy. If Republicans were really worried about preventing non-health-related abortions late in pregnancy, they’d put mife in the CVS. Instead, they pass laws that push women to get care later.
One: abortion is healthcare and should be covered by public insurance. Two: people would get abortions earlier if politicians didn’t pass so many goddamn restrictions. But later abortion will always be needed as some people simply learn new info later in pregnancy.

This is a fantastic feature on a trans teen who has to travel out of state for care, and in the process, it also highlights how dire this situation is for trans youth without supportive families and resources.
Her state bans gender-affirming care for teenagers. So she travels 450 miles for it
An estimated 110,000 trans teenagers live in states that ban gender-affirming care for minors. Some travel huge distances every few months to keep getting their treatment out-of-state.

There's a lot of dialogue about Bluesky being a progressive echo chamber or whatever. But to me, a reporter who's neither racist nor insane, it's currently the best Twitter replacement because Twitter serves me nonstop racist and insane stuff and Threads won't do breaking news. Truly that simple.
