It’s an uphill struggle getting people to accept that Christians can be bad people.

But the even harder truth that people urgently need to grasp in this time of Christofascism is that for some understandings of Christianity, to be a GOOD Christian is to be a BAD person.

Denial makes things worse

Look at my Dem rep, dog, she's a Republican in Dem clothing 😭😭😭

I live in Marie Gluesenkamp Perez’s district, and she makes me want to pull my hair out.

She’s possibly the biggest “Aw shucks, I’m just a fascist like you” phony Dem of them all. An absolute living caricature of the worst kind of Democrat imaginable

The Betrayals of Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
The representative from Washington has been hailed as the future of Democratic politics. But for those of us who actually live in her district, she’s just more of the same.

NEW! from @nicolefroio.bsky.social: The reason governments, universities, and other public institutions across the world want to quash pro-Palestine speech—including art and music—is because they understand the danger it poses to life as we know it. Which is all the more reason to say it louder.
Censorship of Pro-Palestine Speech in the Music Industry Shows the Power of Demands for Decolonization
The liberation of Palestine is a threat to how we live today—that’s precisely why we should keep calling for it.

Naturally, the national legacy media adore her, the local liberal establishment protects her, and she haughtily ignores her constituents no matter how many times we call or protest because no one holds her accountable.

She MUST GO next time around

Disclaimer that i do not live in the US
Apart from that the whole organisation as an infrastructure looks like it is collapsing

I wonder how the power players are going to keep in power when the foundation falls away from under them

Aggriculture is already collapsing

I know this is not an answer people like, but I think it’s impossible to predict exactly when or how this fundamental break will play out. It might involve some states seceding; it might not. Ideally we end up with a better constitution. But events could break out next week or in ten years

My only thoughts are that I am unsurprised and fully expect things to continue getting worse until there is some fundamental break--the Trump regime isn't popular. GOP politics and beliefs aren't popular, but the U.S. system gives them a baked-in advantage. Something has to give eventually

If you’re looking for a resource on the topic, SHAME-SEX ATTRACTION: SURVIVORS' STORIES OF CONVERSION THERAPY would be a great place to start. The anthology brings together 17 stories about conversion therapy as told by survivors themselves, along w/ a foreword by NYT-bestseller Garrard Conley. 4/5

We need to continue listening to researchers about how ineffective and dangerous these practices are.

And we need to continue listening to survivors about the damage caused by conversion therapy. 3/5

This SCOTUS case is repugnant and ought to be treated as such. Most likely, the court will rule in favour of Chiles, given how the court is currently stacked.

But regardless of the outcome, we need to continue fighting against conversion practices. 2/5

It is mind-boggling that the SCOTUS is willing to hear a case concerning the legality of conversion therapy for minors. The petitioner of the lawsuit, Kaley Chiles, is asking SCOTUS to legally allow licensed mental health care professionals to try to change minors' sexualities and genders. 1/5

“Given these actions against Kneecap and ongoing efforts to censor the group, it’s essential to ask: Why are governments so scared of the spread of decolonial speech?”

Federal agents have been intimidating us over our reporting since June. Attacks on the press didn't start this month.

In the last several weeks, we've witnessed a horrifying escalation of violence against protesters, neighbors, anyone who comes near these agents. They are out of control.

Liberals will appease the fascists before allowing you to protect yourself or community from fascist violence.

The mayor is doing the fascists job for them by curtailing our first amendment right to protest

New: Broadview, IL Mayor Katrina Thompson issued an executive order today - her first this year - limiting protest outside the Broadview ICE facility to between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The order cites "recent escalation of violence by ICE" at the facility as reason to restrict protest there.
