108,000+ people in #VA01 may be impacted by Wittman’s votes to cut healthcare access and subsidies. We already have over 41,000 people with no healthcare, and he voted to make it all worse! (Data from the genius analysis of @charlesgaba.com.)

This is narcissism masquerading as philosophy — the technophile elite are not recognizing a new soul in AI, they're falling in love with their creation, staring at their own reflection in a digital pool.

It is the ultimate in solipsism and has its roots in a pathological fear and denial of death.

I’m a fan of Robert Englund from his “V” days and finally caught up with Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story (2022). It follows his career from being a theater actor to the mega star of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.

This is a fantastic documentary. A+ recommended!

if at any point since 2020 you've found yourself thinking "wtf is happening?!"
remember that going "back to normal" as encouraged by our overlords instead of addressing the world as it actually is only solidified everything we're dealing with daily and it won't stop until we stop pretending.

This interview with “newly elected Atlanta City Council member Kelsea Bond" is an interesting analysis of her campaign trajectory. A big factor in her win seems to be her experience running a campaign & union organizing. I want to focus on one thing she said. 🧵

It is very frustrating that Virginia AG Miyares didn’t fulfill our request for an opinion on this unsettled area of law.

A year after the ask he denied it because of Henrico’s lawsuit. A lawsuit rendered necessary by the events of the last year.

People need to understand how deeply eugenicist this is.

They’re insinuating that if you “take care of yourself” you will be healthy and should get affordable healthcare.

Disabled people can’t “healthy living” their way out of being disabled.

It’s not a moral failing.

We need healthcare too
Markwayne Mullin on healthcare: "What the president would like to do is say, hey, if you take care of yourself -- you don't smoke, you don't dip, you're not drinking, you're not overweight, you're working out -- then you should pay less than the guy that obviously is not taking care of himself."

That’d be STUPID right???

As AI content become easier to create & spread, states will play an important role in curtailing the dangers. And we neither need nor want the federal government getting in the way of novel policy solutions

(I don't even think this statement would be controversial among experts. He's openly monetizing the office and making literally billions of dollars!)
NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

Given that the American government seems to be barreling toward a dictatorship, I’m worried that Democratic primary candidates hoping to unseat a Republican - like in #VA-01 - aren't getting more support to boost their visibility. We lose nothing by pulling out all the stops!
